Carroll Shelby (1923-2012) was an American automotive designer, race-car driver, and businessman who made his mark with two muscle cars, the AC Cobra and Ford Mustang. Shelby American, Carroll Shelby’s auto-manufacturing plant, moved to Nevada in 1998, the state’s first and only car factory.

You can tour the 100,000-square-foot Shelby museum, car factory, and showroom. The museum displays a number of the Cobras, old and new. If you're there Monday through Friday at at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Saturday at 10:30 a.m., you can take a 35- to 45-minute tour of the manufacturing plant, also free (no pets allowed).
