Once described as a "hole in God's own miniature golf course," Excalibur has been toned down of late, though it's still one of the most themed casinos on the Strip (and largest, with 4,000 rooms). The property has hosted Tournament of Kings, a nightly jousting tournament and Las Vegas' last dinner show, for 26 years. Other family-friendly features include the pool complex (which has a water slide, as well as an adults-only area) and a video arcade. The hotel emphasizes value and the Tower accommodations have yet to receive an upgrade, but the Contemporary rooms feature pillow-top mattresses, 42-inch flatscreen TVs, and granite countertops. A free tram service connects to Mandalay Bay and neighboring Luxor, with which Excalibur shares reciprocal buffet and show discounts. The casino includes a poker room and sports book, plus offers free gaming classes.
